David Ngog’s 81st minute gave Liverpool a slender lead after the 1st leg of their Europa Cup tie against top Romanian side Unirea Urziceni. Liverpool dominated possession and had 21 shots to the visitors 4 but stubborn defending in numbers from the visitors restricted the Merseysider’s to few clear cut chances. The win will be a relief for Liverpool and their boss Rafa Benitez as it keeps alive their hopes of some silverware this season.
